2009 Festival Information

 

Cello Program

June 15 - 19, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Final Concert: June 19, 7:00 pm

This five-day program is an intensive full-day music experience for intermediate to advanced cello students, ages 8 to18. Students will participate in cello choir, small group ensembles, master classes, technique classes and more, culminating in a final concert at the end of the Festival.

Students will be assigned to groups appropriate to their age and playing level. Intermediate through advanced cello students are welcome.  Minimum playing and reading level for admission: Suzuki Book 2.

10:00 – 10:10 Morning Meeting

10:15 – 11:15 Cello Choir

11:15 – 11:30 Break

11:30 – 12:30 Cello Choir

12:30 – 1:30 Lunch

1:30 – 2:15 Session 1

2:20 – 3:05 Session 2

3:10 – 3:50 Session 3

3:50 - 4:00 Afternoon Meeting

Solo Competition (optional): Festival participants may prepare a solo piece of their choice and audition for the annual solo competition. The audition will be held on Tuesday during the Festival and the winner(s) will perform their solo piece on the final concert. Interested students can sign up at check-in on June 15

th.

Music will be mailed to you no later than two weeks prior to the festival.

Cello Choir is an orchestra made up of all cellos. No singing required!

Students are encouraged to bring games/cards etc. for recreation and relaxation during the lunch break.
